Another HDR experiment, three exposures of a sunrise shot near Hope, AZ on some really cool BLM land off the 10 freeway. I thought about the 4th one and cloning, just didn't bother.

I find your HDR experiment realistic, and in that I congratulate you, because too often the effect is too supernatural for me. Good continuation.

beamer, i like all your shots. i can't think of anything to critique. the sky is my favorite in this one.

Lovely sky. All the colours are quite vibrant! My only thoughts (and I'm only writing them because I'm bored at work) are what might happen if you cropped just the tiniest bit off the bottom, just the shadow part? I also wonder if it could do with a bit sharpening, but again, my eyes are tired... don't listen to me. :)

I think this does fit the topic well, but I find I'm very distracted trying to figure out why the cactus looks so unnatural on the right side (sun facing) where the sky meets the cactus. (You mentioned you did an HDR for this photo, and I don't know enough about it to use the right terminology to explain the color contrast in that area.)
Also, although typical, I would like it cropped portrait dimensions with just the three cactus (cacti?). Although the hills and mountains are pretty, I don't feel they add to the overall composition. I do like the gold tones from the sun.

Clyde,
What makes this a good shot is the comp. - colors are obviously good, but the comp really steals the show.
Best,
Jon

Nice composition, nice colours, I like this. I can't help but wonder what it would look like from a different angle though. Nice long shadows, was there a sunset or sunrise somewhere? Since the subject is three, I might have cloned out the forth one just peaking out behind the first one. The more I look at this the more I find that I like. :-)
