I really like the gritty quality of this image. The strong lines, the grain, and the silhouettes really come at the viewer in a good way. I would crop the sky down to about an inch from the leading telephone pole for a stronger composition. But that is subjective at best.

I agree with Smooch about the cropping/framing correction. I suspect this is iso noise not film grain, right? There are plug-in's for most software to help with the noise and perhaps replace it with a more attractive film grain look.

It is unaltered film grain. Cropped to a width of about 3500px when I scanned it. When cropping it to a ratio of 3:2 I feel like I don't leave enough space in the top. I do agree that I have very subjective preferences concerning formats and colors, but I won't give up the square format in this one. I guess I am a stubborn.

I really like this picture! I love the grainy look. I love the colour. I love how simple it is, but how it tells a story! It's a great pic. I do agree though that it could be cropped a bit at the top but other than that...great job!

the mood that youve been able to capture with this shot, is utterly fantastic.
there is soo much emotion and so much story behind it..
i think its awesome!
and i actually like the square format for the photo..
i think it makes a greater distinction between the road and the infinite sky..
but awesome shot!!

The look works perfectly for this picture. The runner, the car, and the power lines make a great horizontal line across the middle of the picture. I'd also have to agree with cropping the sky just a bit. Very nice work.
