While I think this is a great picture (with the suggested improvement of that slight crop on the right), I don't feel solitude from it. This looks too sad and isolated to truly reflect solitude to me. I interpret solitude to be more of a peaceful, restful time apart from other people. In this image the person though reclining, and perhaps restfully so, seems to be in more of a state of desperation, apart not by choice but by circumstance. So, I think this is a dramatic and well executed photo, but it just doesn't feel right for the solitude theme.

In my dictionary, the definition of solitude is "the state of being alone, separated from other people, whether considered as a welcome freedom from disturbance or as an unhappy loneliness." I think this photo fits the category well.
