Thanks everybody for your comments. It's very interesting the discussion about vignetting, that I added during developing to obtain a somewhat dirty image (so and as I see the oil industry in general).
The sepia dominant already was in the original light, although I emphasized a little during processing.
(excuse my english)

This reminds me of ants making an anthill, only it wasn't ants and it wasn't an anthill. I like how the backdrop isn't completely plain. The clouds add very nice balance to the photo. This is perfect to the point it seems unreal. Amazing job.

What a clever self portrait! I love the warm color of the ceiling around your reflection. This is so cool. . . It's good that your teapot isn't all dusty like mine. :)

This is imaginative, wild concept, perfect take
no default, very sharp .
It is in my eyes a 5/5 .
Keep on the good work.
Just wish to see more soon.
Only regret is you had to black the area of your camera
Thanks

Nice cropping, perfect lighting, and excellent focusing
Overall a great image

Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) said 1 year ago:

I love the texture and weight you've given the ornament and the out of focus bobbles of light in the background set it off well--the roundness of them provide a nice contrast to the arrow straight wing. Marvelous!

beautiful! where was this shot taken?

duncmc (Duncan McMillan) said 1 year ago:

Jenine - thanks for the comment. This is St. Mary’s Church in the village of Elloughton, East Yorkshire in the UK.

Thanks to all those who rated to get this featured!

it's images like this that continue to amaze me of what's out there.
We just don't have cool grave yards like this in Canada. The composition
the colours and the subject are what make this one fantastic shot.

Phoenix (Urvashi R) said 1 year ago:

I get goosebumps just looking at it! It's like something out of a Gothic novel.

Did (Did) said 1 year ago:

Great shot and I like the post-processing (HDR ?).

I like this a lot. My only suggestion would be to increase the contrast between the foreground and the blurred background, right now it seems just a little flat.

nrcowlishaw (Nathan Cowlishaw) added a critique 1 year ago:

The dead rose helps the photo to work appropriately otherwise it would've been hard to understand for the theme. Good work.

Animationist (Mike) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the composition of this shot, the contrast in the colours, the depth of field is perfect, the rose might be considered a bit cliche, but hey it works!

This will be my first Vazaar Fave ... nice work

beautiful scene! just a little more contrast could've made it a bit more dramatic ...

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it for the lines.
By keeping the body in, the viewer's eyes are directed slowly upwards by the gentle curves of her body.
They are very faint which also give a very intimate feel.

ambrosiastar (Ambrosia) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this one. The very soft edge of the arm is perfect in this photo.

Animationist (Mike) added a critique 1 year ago:

I have to agree with mikeock, without the body it becomes a floating head and that too me is just a bit spooky. I do like the expression, lighting and contrast.
I also feel the off centre of the subject helps to make the photo. Nice work

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) added a critique 1 year ago:

"High key" tecnique does want that lines go to melt with backgorund. So this photo is perfect. The soft pink instead of traditional white it's a piece of genius. Personally I would have preferred her hair a bit more overlighted (like they are in the other photo you linked), but this it's just a detail.

leaves added a critique 1 year ago:

i'm in love with this soft light pink you choose. body or no body i cant take my eyes off all the details in her hair/face. great photo.
