I agree. This was more an experiment with high key processing rather than finished image, subject seemed suitable for this kind of treatment but photo wasn't technically great.

Regarding the sharpness, may I advice that you could have duplicated your image (in order to get 2 layers) before applying the blur on the second one, then just erased a bit here and there on the face, to recover the initial sharpness ;-)

I wish the portrait could have been a bit sharper. Just my opinion.
