I'm glad that you like it, chaba!
The guy was actually posing but I can't really tell for sure whether he was looking at the smoke or just half-closed his eye.

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

I don't know that I like the yellow cast and I am not sure how it fits into the theme. That said, this is a pretty nice variation on the typical smoking person pic.

Dale (Dale) added a critique 1 year ago:

It is a really nice image - however I think the shadow obscures too much of the face.

Unusual roof, like miniTotoro for the foreground.

superb perspective, detail light and tones...great shot

Ramon (Alex Ramon) added a critique 1 year ago:

This image has great composition... I love the idea. I only wish there was more focus and less shadow in the foreground.

AndreiMorar (Andrei Morar) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all for your comments.

If I were to reshoot the scene I would change the focus point more to the foreground, step down more my 17-40 and eliminate that shadow.

Criticism really makes you see the mistakes you made and improvements you could have done.

I like the surrealistic vibe. The reflections really work well.

AndreiMorar (Andrei Morar) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all for you comments.

Unfortunately I don't have another angles of the same shot but I'll try to make it a tad darker with more contrast and see how it looks.

Great shot!

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great capture. Great expression. Was he frozen like that or did you just catch it right?

AndreiMorar (Andrei Morar) said 1 year ago:

He is one of those mimes that sit all day log pulling faces to passers by.

He noticed me taking his picture and goofed up a little. :)

a very good & authentic portrait.

Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:

I only wish there was a little more light under the hat - not easy to do unless you have the equipment and the time - otherwise love the natural light and subject. Nice work!

Jenseye (Jen) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wonderful candid portrait!

MarkDM (Mark Dodge Medlin) added a critique 1 year ago:

This is terrific - the lighting, the expression, the depth of field, the lot. Nice job.

This looks more like looking inside opposed to looking out!

Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think the idea was right, but there isn't something interesting in the window when I look through it.

markusbelloni added a critique 1 year ago:

Could have been better from another angle maybe. I think it needs to be reframed.

AndreiMorar (Andrei Morar) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all for your comments.

I thought that the inside of the house would be interesting by the warmth it suggests. I agree that the interior by itself it's not the most interesting ever.

Markus, how would you reframe it? From what angle?
