Wow, very nice. This image is also suiteble for 'best macro' or 'abstract'. Good idea and implementation.

I like it! The moon atop the spire is a great setup. I don't mind the lean...the weeping cherry on the left seems to be pushing it from the frame.

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 7 months ago:

Can't say that I like the lean all that much, I like the way the top points to the moon but this could be accomplished on a level angle. Also, there is quite a bit of sensor dust that should be cloned out.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 7 months ago:

i don't know exactly why but i like this shot

ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 7 months ago:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess this what shot at Kiyomizudera in Kyoto Japan? If so, I have almost that exact same picture minus the cherry blossoms. The only thing I would nitpick is the contrast and saturation. Looks a little flat to me.

JLM (Joel Le Montagner) added a critique 6 months ago:

Trés classique mais bien vu. La lune est peut-être un peu trop prés du bord.
Manque un peu de peps...

@Clyde - Yeah, too bad about the glass, this particular lizard lives in that part of the building, will get him one day :) I have posted a boosted version of the same pic here - neutralgrey.aminus3.com/image/2008-04-15.html , is this what you had in mind?

congrats on the feature :)
the framing is unusual and therefore very good.
as for the impact, I agree with beamer's suggestion.

best, calisto

The speckled effect looks like ice crystals.

hmm, this image isn't a kind of photo i like. Its to common 4 me, but it isn't bad.
At flowers, i like the colors ;)

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 6 months ago:

Creo que la parte oscura sobra para este tema, ¿recortar en formato cuadrado?

prometheus (Thomas) added a critique 6 months ago:

I think it would work better on a white background and in square format.

Thank you, Ana.
The fog and morning light gave everything a blue tint.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 8 months ago:

I like the location you chose and how the fence "runs" through the picture. The winter (lack of)light creates a great atmosphere. The photo would be cool, even without the effect, but it certainly adds something and fits perfectly the action.

MomentsinTime (Pete Brennan) said 8 months ago:

Very cool photo, Ana! Nice job!

eziler said 8 months ago:

Great sense of movement here, good lines and just the right amount of detail. Well done.

One suggestion; croping just a tad off of the right would improve balance.

bluechameleon (Sharon Wish) said 6 months ago:

Simply amazing! I would love a lesson in how you did this. Brava!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

The background is fine, the problem, imo, is the composition. You could easily crop this to a square and it would focus so much more attention on you main subject. There is way too much showing on the right of frame. If you crop out the whole right 1/4 or so it would be better.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 6 months ago:

I agree with Clyde. You could crop from the right, cutting the big blurry flower of the image. Perhaps would some cloning, to get rid of at least two of the most giant flowers on the background, on the left also make a less crowded impression.

A thing I like about the photo is the soft pink colour of the flowers with the purple background on top of the photo.

camiels (Camiel Schoonens) said 6 months ago:

Thanks for the constructive feedback! Never thought of cropping it into a square. Will do so in the near future.

treehuggerish added a critique 6 months ago:

It actually took a while before I discovered the bee. It is in its essence a very nice photo of a bee and a flower. Actually one of the better ones I've seen. What really hurts this image is, as others have noted, the cropping. Both the foreground and background makes it very hard to focus on the subject, so yeah! crop it and let us see it again... I'll bet it'll be a very nice photo then. I'd suggest a somewhat tight crop, try to get as much blue/green background and as little of the other flowers as possible.

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 6 months ago:

Estando de acuerdo con lo expuesto, ayudaría si el insecto se mostrara de cara, pero es tan difícil, a veces, conseguirlo.....

ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 6 months ago:

Wow. This one really caught my eye. The 3 similar, yet very distinct colors, and the way it's done just seems like something out of a western. Awesome job.
