I really like the subject and the composition is good, too. I just don't like the background, but since you couldn't have removed the fence, of course, I think you did a good job.

The background is a bit busy but there was nothing much you could do about that, other than perhaps making the crop even tighter. I bet that person had a tough ride home.

I suppose there's a lot going on in the background, but I don't find it distracting. Maybe a more shallow DOF would have cleaned it up a bit.

Regardless, I really like this one. (It's one of my favorite bicycle photos so far.) Nice, straight-forward composition. Good tones... I can't really see anything blown out, which is easy to do with snow.

I definitely went for 'classic' when I shot this. Framed the frame (ha ha, I'm so funny) as best I could with the surroundings. I knew I was going b/w with it as I took the shot. Lots more distracting background in colour! Thank you all.

I like the fact that the bicycle has been locked there for a while and still looks in great shape. White snow is as it should.. Great job!

Maybe you should have taken the picture from a lower level, therefore might have needed to lie down.

hee hee. I like laying in the snow, really!! But yeah, that's the one change I would make if I could...get a bit lower. I'd kneel maybe...but not lay down...

Ana, Nice shot. I agree just bit shorter DOF would have worked wonderfully here. I see it with the first fence (directly behind the bike) in focus, with everything else beyond out of focus. As is, it's a great shot... reminds me of Amsterdam, as there were many time I would emerge from indoors to find my transportation in this state!

I wish the bike were against something white. The fence is confusing me.

A nice idea, but I would have opened up the lens all the way to blur the background.
