Good job. It shows your technical ability's and it's kind a funny, too. Only thing I would do diffrent (if I would be able to it :p )is photographing this scene with the text not upside-down. Just twist the image 180 degrees won't do it of course, the perspective would not be right then.

Great one!! See you can still do it... I've been thinking of a self-portrait for this Topic!!

I like the idea behind this shot, the only thing that bothers me is the shallow depth of field, too little of the image is in focus.

Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 1 month ago:

I agree with Angad, great idea, with humor, but too much of the scene is out of focus.

Hello Ana, Thank you for your opinion.
I agree about the position of the bird, but it was a quick catch! He was gone in an instant!

I believe I was using a 300mm, so the focus was all on the bird, and not the scene.
Thank you again.

Very beautiful and full of the wonder of the moment. I really like the framing and use of negative space. Nice work, in my opinion.

The feel of this shot is very striking, although you might wish for the bird to be postioned differently. I am hopeless at the ps thing, but I would be interesting to see the effect on the composition if you cut the bird and flip it 180 so that it is flying into, rather than out of frame (it looks relatively easy with such a stark background). Still, it is wonderful as is.

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 5 months ago:

oh,yeah, it would be quite easy to flip the bird (ha ha ha)

:)

At first I thought, too much grey sky. But then I read Ana's comment (in as much as I understand Spanish). Held my hand in front of the bottom left for an instance, and suddenly the whole thing worked.
So, too bad about that patch of grass. But since birds don't wait until you get a nice frame on them, it's still a great picture.

Great shot. I don't see anything that needs improving.

Just beautiful Ana!

Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 1 month ago:

Beautiful, but I wonder... Perhaps if you'ld crop both on top and on the bottom and leave just the building, train and trees might make it _really_ interesting.

I like the light, colour and chaotic feel.

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 2 months ago:

thank you for the comment. this was a barn that collapsed onto itself. I loved that the door was left on top of all the wreckage!

Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) said 1 month ago:

Beautiful colours. They keep the thing together nicely too.

Wow. That's what I call a conflagration! I'd be interested in knowing what your vantage point was.

Singed my eyebrows.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 8 months ago:

Hi Ana, scary looking shot, hope nobody was hurt. Your shot is very sharp and holds lots of impact. 24 of 25, lol. Only took off for relevance...

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 8 months ago:

Low on relevance, aye?

Cause there's not enough fire? lol.

ambrosiastar (Ambrosia) said 2 months ago:

Eep!! Looks hot!
I like this though, puts you right there!

Thank you, Ana.
The fog and morning light gave everything a blue tint.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 8 months ago:

I like the location you chose and how the fence "runs" through the picture. The winter (lack of)light creates a great atmosphere. The photo would be cool, even without the effect, but it certainly adds something and fits perfectly the action.

MomentsinTime (Pete Brennan) said 8 months ago:

Very cool photo, Ana! Nice job!

eziler said 8 months ago:

Great sense of movement here, good lines and just the right amount of detail. Well done.

One suggestion; croping just a tad off of the right would improve balance.

bluechameleon (Sharon Wish) said 6 months ago:

Simply amazing! I would love a lesson in how you did this. Brava!
