This would also be interesting as a very narrowly cropped panoramic where most of the landscape above and below the riders is removed...

I agree with Bradford about the framing. Could really work as a more rectangular framing. I would crop more off the top and leave a larger foreground. That will make the riders look farther away.

Interesting. This photo looks very flat upon first glance, but you really have to look and imagine the landscape here. Neat.
