Not intentional on my part, but perhaps on his. Taken the first night of the North American Photoblogger meetup in Chicago...the subject is Thomas Marlow.

I've loved many of your photos, but the branches in the middle seem to take so much away from rest of the photo. My eyes are continually drawn to them. The perspective is unique.
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) said 11 months ago:
well those branches were one reason why i made this :p

Really like this one.. The mood seems to be a serene sunset. Very relaxing photo. :)

I find those branches distracting too.

Thanks Carl. Close to Navarre. This is from Pensacola Beach just down the road.

I had not rated this topic for a while and this shot zipped to the top of my personal top 20...I love the lighting, the capture of the tackle sailing through the aire and the onrushing waves. A definite favorite for me!

And you were west of the pier obviously,?
Looking back my 'nav.' way.

I see absolutely nothing in this image that could be construed as wrong. The gold tone of the water is beautiful and that silhouetted duck is perfect. It is to me a glorious image.

nice silhouettes against that beautiful sky..
the only thing to mension for me is the composition, I would of placed the plants a little mor to the left..
Pixim (Eric) added a critique 11 months ago:
Bonsoir (pour moi) Beamer, comme mizztech, je trouve original ces silhouettes épineuses sur ce ciel bien capté. Je suis gêné par cette masse rocheuse à droite qui m'empêche d'avoir de la profondeur. A la prochaine.
Good evening (for me) Beamer, like mizztech, I find original these thorny silhouettes on this well collected sky. I am obstructed by this rock mass on the right which prevents me from having depth. With the next one.
leaves (Giancarlo Rinna) added a critique 11 months ago:
the rock on the right is slightly distracting, but overall a very nice thorny silhouette, good shot.

Crush the blacks just a tad more and the building he is standing on goes black and a 4/5 becomes a 5/5!! Very nice, wonderful subject and very nicely captured.

I might have taken this to B&W. This has a real mystery/abstract feel to it. Also, I would have painted/cropped out the edge of the head on the right edge of frame.
Interestingly, I really like the blur in this pic, just like a painting. The fly's good too! love it.
