Just bought a Nikon Coolscan 4000, this is one of the first old slides I scanned. This is circa 1978 taken at Natural Bridge in Virginia.

it's too much mess we dont know too much where we are

Sorry you feel that way Bizet, I kind of liked it back in 1978 and still do. I like the abstract/mysterious nature of this image, but thanks for you time to comment.

I agree with you Clyde, it does give off a very mysterious feel. The calmness of the water really tricks you, until you search and find the ripple and you realize it's water. I also like the, pink flowers (or at least I think that is what they are) that are the lone color other than a shade of green, they seem to be struggling to be seen in the midst of all the green. I see where Bizet might get his opinion, if you just glance over this photo you might not like it, but if you really look and study the photo you can really appreciate this photo and it's little subtleties. Good job, Clyde, at realizing a very interesting photo opportunity that most people would probably just pass by.

I'm with Noah on this one, Clyde. I like the detail and the composition that you have used that forces your eye to continually wander the frame to try and resolve what is "real" and what is a reflection. Great work and thanks for sorting through some images from the past to share (it would be great to give a commentary on the gear that you used to create this and your other older images).

Thanks boyd!! Great comments. I had one camera and one lens back then: Minolta SRT-101 w/ 55mm f-1.7 MC Rokkor. I shot mostly Kodachrome some Ektachrome. The slide mounts that I have scanned here don't say what film the slide is, so not sure about these two.

on a l'impression de rentrer dans un monde mystérieux, surprenant mais bonne idée.

Clyde ... this is a great lesson in how old gear with "standard" glass allows you to capture fabulous images - or it is a great add for rokkor 55mm f1.7 lenses ... thanks for reminding me that I should persist with my old OM gear to try to improve my image making rather than spending my time longing for the latest and greatest shiny digital toy ...

Hey, I've been there - that is not far from where I live! :-)

Hey Amber, were do you live? I grew up in Buchanan, went to college at JMU.
