I agree with Amy, the wrinkles are a hit, as are the eyes. You have allowed the focus to be on the face with good use of dof and his grey coat also helps. This is a very engaging portrait, well done.

Looks like a guy I would like to share a warm breakfast with and share stories!! What a nice capture. If you want a minor critique: try B&W, might really pull this into a great place and either way, a bit of work in curves would probably pull out a better tonal range. Maybe a bit of burning in the eyes area.

I like this! You have lost a good bit of detail in the shadows, and I think it is just a little bit redder than is natural - very nice portrait!
