Yes those minor tweaks will ad a lot but you already have a lot of great elements.
The holder for his umbrella,his expression and hand gestures!

I see it differently...I'd crop from the top, at the bottom of the top "brick". The bottom shows the wet pavement...the top just shows more building. I do agree about straightening the building.

I like the composition; I think it says a lot about who this person must be. Minor editing tweaks -- if it were my image, I'd straighten the building. Even if it is on an angle "in real life," I think the crooked line it creates down the center of the image is a distraction. Besides, then it would make his lean on the building more apparent. And maybe I'd crop it in a bit vertically (less ground but lots of building). I think doing so would emphasize the building height and his relationship to it.
