The focus is wonderful. I like the colorful background. The only thing I wonder about is her skin color; it seems a little too orangeish/reddish. Perhaps you might want to take another look at your white balance.

Thanks Veronica. I did think that although from memory, this was at a pirate party mid-day in July in San Diego and the temperature was 100f plus. There does seem to be a yellowish glow though.

Nice warm tones. I love the focus and the bokeh in the background.

The white of her shirt seems a bit bright, but I love her rosy cheeks, and instantly attributed them to running around in the heat!

I used to think that this skin color was impossible particularly seeing it Manet paintings. But I have seen this in real life and realized it is a matter of the person, youth, lighting and environmental elements.

From the red in her blouse it may be from a reflection below. But how it is caught in her is really put the top on this one.

If you planned this than many congratulations. If you caught this on the spur of the moment even more congratulations since it is so important as a photographer to be ready when these beautiful opportunities are given to us.

Thanks bestarchitect. I have to admit that this was pure chance and the best of a bunch of pictures. The day was extremely hot and she had been running around, hence the ruddy complexion. It was indeed very bright, around midday and not a cloud in the sky. It was also windy, hence the crazy hair. A very rare moment indeed with my daughter sitting still, she was off again seconds later.

These brief moments are indeed fleeting and precious.
