Actually, it was a posed shot. My husband used to work with him, and he asked us to do a photo shoot with him. But I'm glad people think it's real, that's what I was going for.

It is a nice photo, my thought was that the back of his hand looked strange. Did you shoot this pose with any lower angle, I wonder what that would be like...?

I have one more shot of this, with a slightly lower angle... I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow. Thanks for your input :)

nice shot, meaningfull and well structured.
But imho, the pic would have much more impact if we could see a bit more of his face (maybe the eyes?) and if there were more space on top and left sides. the pic is a bit small for that man ^^"

Lots of atmosphere in this shot - well composed and thought out. I like the tight crop, but I do think that a little more of his face would have been good, particularly since the topic is Portrait of a Person. Maybe with the hands lower and the eyes staring unseeingly forwards? I like the yellow lettering behind him...

Great shot, v. well posed and evocative. My one complaint is the skin tone - it looks cartoonish, almost, too much post-processing? I really like the detail and tone in the clothes, tho. I wonder what it'd look like b&w?

I was almost disappointed when reading that this was a posed shot.. there is so much emotion in this pic, so many things the viewer can imagine... It serves me right, next time I won't read the other comments before writing mine ;-)
Anyway, congratulations, this is a great shot !

A very touching moment - I hope he is only tired, not sad. Fantastic capture. I bet you are a firefighter too, since you came that close ...
