Too busy for this category. Highlights are a distraction as well. Great expression on the subject, but too many other problems to redeem this shot.

I think this is a wonderful portrait, though I'd crop it just at the top of his head (so that person above him isn't showing) and then on the right to remove a bit of his back (I like the cars).

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 6 months ago:

Good expression on his face. I'd crop top, right and left to leave only the subject and the guy with the board. Minor thing: odd white line in his eye. It wouldn't be a problem for me except for the fact that it is his eye, which is important in portraits.

love the contrast of the image. It makes it pop out!
nice one!

hmmm... I like it except for the tire growing out of his eye. If there was a cleaner background, it would be a keeper

How you took this?

DarcoTT (Darco TT) said 3 months ago:

Hi Syam.
The original photo is quite different. This photo has photoshop and my "darcanian style". I have a feeling that to explain it would be complicated to me in English.

Example:
www.flickr.com/photos/darco/sets/72157600005264907...
www.photrade.com/gallery.php?id=2477

Do you know Dragan Style and Draganizer scripts for photoshop?

Good photo and use of shadow. It may have been an option to move the lady's head away from the black graffiti so that the shadow on her face did not blend into the background.

angle original, comme pbosh j'aime bien ta gestion de l'ombre. je me demande ce que donnerais cette photo en b&w

boyd added a critique 3 months ago:

I like the composition of this shot, and the pose on the model is really very effective. This is made even better by your use of side lighting. The only thing that troubles me slightly is that the focus seems more on the wall than the model's face, but only slightly.

Wow, this is a wonderful portrait!! Hard work and a hard life. Is that grain analog or digital?

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 4 months ago:

This is scaned film shot. Grain is analog!

HuubL said 4 months ago:

Is it, I just looked at the other one and that looked like digital to me.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 4 months ago:

No. On that photo I after all manipulation used filter to reduse noise and grain. And on this photo I make analog grain more contrast and notable!

JBridges (Jim Bridges) said 3 months ago:

Just an awesome portrait. (The other version is good too, but doesn't have quite the same character. To me, it looks like a still from a 1930s film, for some reason--which is not a bad thing. I'd be happy to show off either version.)

I like the reflections in the glasses - makes me curious about the story. I'm not sure about the shadows on the subject's face; maybe a little fill flash? (but that might interfere with the relections, so maybe not?)

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 3 months ago:

I would crop it a lot, making it the eyes/sunglasses the main object. Just what blossompp3 said: the reflection is the most important. By doing some cropping, the rest of the face will be almost gone and of course, the shadows won't bother anymore.

Me gusta más este tratamiento que el primero que vimos en color. Creo que en B*N el sujeto adquiere mayor relevancia. Saludos

je suis d'accord avec toi, je prefere mon traitement b&w
