I might have played with the DOF to separate the boy from the background a little more or perhaps cloned out the hand and white glob that looks like it's growing out of his head. I think the colors and comp are right, maybe play with the levels some if I were nitpicking.

I like the processing here - it really emphasizes the rugged face. Also, the DOF is perfect, if he background was any sharper it would detract from the subject, Well done.

soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 6 days ago:

It looks oversharpened: the texture is great but more akin to a ancient statue made of stone; this contrasts with his lively eyes; the left eye is a bit blurry.

dominik (Dominik Fusina) added a critique 3 days ago:

too sharp and dark for me

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 2 days ago:

I have to agree with the "over sharp" sentiment expressed by others. I do like the processing otherwise. Your subject has a great face, too.

JBridges (Jim Bridges) added a critique 2 days ago:

I agree that it looks a bit over-sharp, but I personally don't think it's a problem with this image. It is a little bit dark (and I literally mean very little). But over-all, it's got good character and I think it works.

cute picture, with lots of energy...captures the attitude of kids very well...greatjob!

Neuner added a critique 2 months ago:

I think this could have been exceptional if the shot was dropped down some so there isn't as much white space up above, you didn't have the shadows behind them and it was exposed so that the white space was close to being blown out. I really like the expressions and the boy on the right moved forward from the others and out front.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 1 month ago:

I like the composition but maybe with more continuos shoting you could have got even more interesting faces expressions.

james_littlefox added a critique 7 days ago:

agree with BepperRdam, consecutive capture could result in even better face expressions.

Two other excellent ones... Of course, I understand the link between the left and the right shots, but each one is so good that they could be showed (and appreciated) individually.
Great work !

Sorry for the same photo :) New, another version of this one www.vazaar.com/user:misu/photos/id:30088/

HuubL said 18 days ago:

Wow, this is a wonderful portrait!! Hard work and a hard life. Is that grain analog or digital?

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 18 days ago:

This is scaned film shot. Grain is analog!

HuubL said 18 days ago:

Is it, I just looked at the other one and that looked like digital to me.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 18 days ago:

No. On that photo I after all manipulation used filter to reduse noise and grain. And on this photo I make analog grain more contrast and notable!
