This is really nice. Would also look great from an upper window!
Nice Scene!

I love the colors...they go together so well...Great job...interesting idea from Ana...it would look cool from above...and that's where I'd be on a day like this...cuddled up on the couch watching a movie.

Many thanks for your kind comments. I understand about getting higher. Just not possible in the circumstances though. the rain was too hard and the shops were shut :0)

The lady in the left foreground makes this photo for me - wonderful work!

best,

I really like this! Someone else had mentioned being shot from an upper window and I agree. Overall I really like the varying depth in the foreground and the background...very subtle. Great work!

At this camera angle, I would crop about 15-20% off the top to focus interest more on the umbrellas. The brighter top part of the buildings doesn't really gain you anything and it draws the eye a bit.

Ana (Ana Cortez) added a critique 3 months ago:

Oh, I love the buildings are part of the context and muted colour.
The umbrella's sort of mimic the signs.
I like that.

Thanks for the comments, all interesting and constructive. I will experiment with a crop to see if I can improve the feel of the shot. When I took the shot I wanted to get the effect of looking in the foreground and seeing the background so that the parade of brolleys could be seen.

Thanks!!

What I really like about this shot is not the technical aspects (I agree with the comments above about these), but the story that is being told within this theme. Take away the signs in the background and you have a scene from almost any developed country in the world. I like the idea of the common touch of getting about in the rain using umbrellas. I also love the different postures etc of all the folk that can be seen (yes, particularly that lady on the left). Well done.

Great!

This looks great. Maybe crop some off of the top and and punch up the colors.
