Excellent image, great post processing. Only the shadows of the wires are a bit disturbing.

thank you for the comment, bastian. i shot the photo while the sun was really harsh, it was late afternoon, i think. could I have set my camera settings differently to make the shot better?

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 27 days ago:

Oh I see. The only thing you could have done was choosing a different angle, so the sheadows were more obvious to be dropped by the sun.

that makes sense. thank you. :)

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 26 days ago:

It's still a really good image though.

pas facile ce genre de photos et celle-ci est bien réalisée. Manque un peu de piqué mais ce doit être le scan

cadrage et sujet intéressant mais la dominante bleu et le grain sont vraiment génants

meyli said 2 months ago:

Merci beaucoup pour la critique. En ce qui concerne le grain je vais essayer d'appliquer un traitement pour le diminuer, mais en ce qui concerne la dominante bleu (le fond?) je ne suis pas sûr de comprendre...

there is alot of action in this photo but it doesnt seem to have any meaning behind it. i would like to see a photo of just the girl standing on the ledge

meyli said 2 months ago:

It was a spontaneous shot, not prepared. The children were playing to climb on the ledge. I took a couple of shot while the three of them were climbing. Then the little boy noticed me so he came near me and started to take a pose. I did show him the shot I just took... He called his friends to take a look at the shot. They laughed a lot and decided to pose for another one. I tried to have a better composition this time. The little girl with the orange short was still hurrying to go back on the ledge, while the other one (I can only presume) was wondering when I would take the shot. I took it at this moment because I loved the pose of the little boy and was afraid he would change it. And I was right because a couple of seconds later they came back to see the shot on the camera and laughed again. After this I could not stay, I had to go...

So now what is the meaning of the shot? I cannot tell, I just spent a minute with the children and I'm not sure of what the girl at the forefront was thinking (when? why? who?, ...).

Thanks for the comment.

Yeah a better top-framing would make a huge improvement.

I agree with all the positive comments above. I like the fact that this could be a beach in so many places and that it carries with it so many emotions. Well done.

This is a very well done picture. I really like it!

sambhara (Michael Bogdan) added a critique 2 months ago:

Great photo, taking the shot from down below with a wider angled lens really gives the photo the feel of innocents and wonderment. All in all its a wonderful photo.

that face is classic!

juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) added a critique 3 months ago:

Considero esta fotografía curiosa en el sentido que la mirada del sujeto principal pareciera como que se desentiende de la escena, observando al fotografo. Creo que se pueden ver tres acciones distintas (la chica explicando, el chico mirando y el fotografo captando),en la misma fotografia. Interesante. Saludos.

op_perrin (Olivier Perrin) added a critique 3 months ago:

une belle idée, juste dommage que le garçon regarde trop le photographe, son regard irait vers le livre, cela aurait été top

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 2 months ago:

His expression is very nice and well captured. The shadow of her arm on his stomach looks strange and unreal. Did you do some editing here?
