belle composition, j'adore l'ambiance et la main avec la cigarette qui donne une direction oblique qui coupe l'image bien vu!!

What a great... window!
:o)
Ana (Ana Cortez) said 5 months ago:
Seems a bit out of focus and the left side of the shot is very fuzzy and blurry. Was this intended?
Very difficult lighting situation, and the 'window' seems to overpower your subject.
taikrixel (thomas mueller) said 5 months ago:
really well done. i like the framing with the window.

My gut reaction to this photo was very positive. I get a feeling of being "stuck" inside, longing for the outside. Upon looking a little longer, I'm wondering about how reversing the focus to the outside scene would change the overall feeling...but I'm not sure it would be for the better...
uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the dof and choice of focus here. My complaint is that the image is a bit dark, and the lettering on the window sort of gets lost in the surrounding tones. I'm not really sure how you could have prevented that though. Perhaps using a slightly lower angle?
charmarie (Char) added a critique 1 year ago:
Definately the image could be lighter and the lettering my eye seems to get stuck on.
TheAntipodes (Menno van Zaanen) added a critique 1 year ago:
The low key of this image is nice, but it doesn't make the letters stand out. I personally do like the focus on the letters, which makes a nice distinction between inside and outside.
GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 4 months ago:
Lighten up the dark end of the image. My eyes got stuck trying to read the sign because the detail was lost in the dark.

Thank you so much! This is an effect I found on the web. I'm not on my computer, so I can't give you a direct link. But it's very easy: you choose a painting and you mix it with your photo. If you're interested, I'll post a tutorial when I'll be back home.
mikeock (Mike Adams) said 8 months ago:
The tutorial would be greatly appreciated!
philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 7 months ago:
This is a very simple effect:
- you choose a painting you like for its colors. Matisse, Rembrandt, whatever. One I particularly like is "Nighthawks", by Hopper. You download it. The size of the file doesn't really matter.
- open it in PS, then open on top your image.
- go to image-adjustments-match color
- open the painting in source
- play with luminance and color intensity until you are pleased with the result.
Note that the pictures don't match every time, sometimes the result is just good for the trash.

Thank you very much for this tutorial, I will test ;)

C'est simplement excellent - à tester d'urgence, c'est clair :))

Very well composed and with a lot of detail. I like it very much and maybe it is because it is not sharpened to the max :)

I like the atmosphere this has, and the assymetry on right adds to the image

After all rthe expert comments above, I just want to say that I think this is a beautiful image, work very well, for me, from tones to composition. Great work

Great framing job with this - great atmosphere you have captured - very strong sense of "being there" with this shot. Love the colors - nice work.
Best,

It's a great photo of what we see on a rainy day and we don't really want to go outside.
I like it, and if it's a photo from within your home, I'd suggest that you keep it to remember that place and that day.
lbstone (Brandon Stone) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think the little spots of red are what make this photo work... They fit nicely against the dark tones.
In respect to what Uncommondepth said, I agree that this image communicates a lonely sort of feel, but the red somehow adds a dash of optimism to that.
I'm not usually into photos of rain and flowers, but I like this. ;)
eli (Elijah Woolery) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this image, it is vibrant and well executed; as you said, it is a bit cliché, but sometimes it is nice just to appreciate an image for what it is.
mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very well executed.
You have a very good backdrop behind your window to achieve these results.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
This is such a great shot - the red is wonderful here and really lifts this one out of the realm of the ordinary - very intriguing effect.
Best,
Jon
