Hello Apurva,
I think I saw that rusty engine somewhere before :-) Great to see more of your work here!

Nice photo, I always like rusty and worn-out stuff. I don't like the frame though, especially since it's blue.

Good job. It shows your technical ability's and it's kind a funny, too. Only thing I would do diffrent (if I would be able to it :p )is photographing this scene with the text not upside-down. Just twist the image 180 degrees won't do it of course, the perspective would not be right then.

Great one!! See you can still do it... I've been thinking of a self-portrait for this Topic!!

I like the idea behind this shot, the only thing that bothers me is the shallow depth of field, too little of the image is in focus.
Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 8 days ago:
I agree with Angad, great idea, with humor, but too much of the scene is out of focus.

Great tones, the composition works well too. however I'm not sure it fits the topic

Nice tonal value and composition. A familiar scene to everybody. You've captured the clean lines and functional design quite well with a bit of humor by leaving the discarded paper in the image. It does look more contemporary rather than old though.

Strong lines. I like these kind of usual scene transformed in art :)

I agree - like the shot but am unsure of its place within the topic (door furniture looks too new). On a side note, I am sure that the tiler was happy with the plumber with the placement of the button - not only does it look annoyingly off-centre, it required cutting of 4 tiles ...

Bonita pero hay demasiada luz de fondo, me parece.

Clyde,
Weigh in on this if you have time - I really have mixed feelings about this effect - half the time I love it, and half the time I think it's really stupid and ultimately distracts greatly from the face of the subject. On the other hand, if I see it as something other than a traditional portrait...maybe it works on some level. Feel free to comment.
Later,

i like this shot, nice use of light
very interesting face

imo there's too much visible of the back of his head. It just isn't a 'en profile' shot, a couple of degrees counter-clockwise turning of the man and it would be all o.k.

Nice color but over exposed on the upper right. Original point of view. I like it.
warreagle (Amy Warr) added a critique 1 month ago:
experiment with a warmer lighting perhaps, to bring out the browns. I too like the point of view
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 month ago:
I agree with all above. The tonal range is flat, maybe with a stronger contrast the blown highlights would not feel so much of a mistake.
boyd added a critique 1 month ago:
I also agree with the above with regards to the composition you have selected. I understand the diffuculty with this shot - white paint is highly reflective in direct sunlight, and the other detail is relatively dark so you had to make some compromises. You did very well to get the peeling paint in the top left, but you might try cropping the top overexposed bit and then working on upping the contrast in the interesting parts at the bottom.

i like how you composed the photo, but the lighting is a bit harsh on the top part. did you do any post-processing on it?

A rusty door lock to the basement. Some would open the door, others make an image of this old item. See here for technical details.

Buena idea perfectamente captada.

Bon travail!

love the idea and carried out well!

Nice one Emily!! Can't suggest much of criticism. Maybe crop a little off the bottom to frame the tower a little better?

I think I would have composed the lines more corner to corner or gone fro perfect vertical lines. MCS
