the glow of the lights on the pavement are what drew me to take out my camera. thanks for the critique :]

Since when is negative space considered "waste"? I think it helps the image quite a bit. It would be rather boring with just the lights and skyline. The pavement and reflections are what make it interesting to me.
Did you try some grayscale action on it though? Might look cool. It's a nice shot though I think.

I liked composition a lot. Colors are ok for a night shot. On a negative side, it looks a bit blurry.
greendot added a critique 1 year ago:
It's a bit blurry, but I like the lonely and dark feeling in this shot. And the colours are totally okay for a nightshot.

Gracias Ana. Es un anochecer en las Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia),España. Coincido contigo en el "ambiente" especial de serenidad/calma que transmite. Saludos

Personnaly i dont care about brand name of camera,
i just thougth you were asking for critic to improve your photo, now upon your answer ,you did a good job
whithout help of tripod , but that is your own desired effect, could be great but to much noise.
Tuna said 1 year ago:
Thank you, Mario - but I have to ask, do you really carry around a tripod to capture your street shots? Also, which film do you use to capture existing-light images at night without grain? (Not that I would be interested in using it or trying to capture in digital "smoothness" because, you see, film grain is the soul of photography).
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:
Yes i allways have a tripod on my shoulder just in case.
But i dont use a film camera anymore (dlsr is my choice)
and i respect your choice it need more work and you did very well.
About your last comment digital smootness vs film grain
i can reassure you, you could obtain the same effect
in today digital, but here again we seem to fall in the same pitt as the fisherman, what is more noble
flyfisherman or common fisherman, in my eyes only the final result count.
Keep on sending more.

I love the blurs and the tones. My kind of stuff. Very nicely done.

I think you need to check the white balance setting.

I love your use of light in this image. Not just the artificial lights, but the ambient light in the sky and against the distant peak. Very well done panorama shot IMHO.

Thanks a lot for your nice words. This is the city Salzburg. I tell you, I did freeze that much on the roof of that hotel, where I stood making that shot, I am happy, the outcome is something you like.

Excellent! I only wish the one blurry guy wasn't quite so blurry.. Even with that it's still wonderful. A classic black and white night shot.
MMeye (Martine) said 1 year ago:
@ Yvette : As you can imagine, I used a long exposure, and the men were walking.. not easy to avoid the blur.. ;-)
Thank you for your comment, and thanks to all who made it featured :-)

yeah you are right, this blur is anoiing but i used a tripot ;) but i think that this trpit wasnt very stable and at an exposure time of 4 secinds.... well i tried my best^^
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:
Ive seen your other photo
my best recommendation is stop using that tripot ;)
maybe it time to change for a new one or not using it at all, would surely increase focus and DOF,
your composition are very good, show us, your potential is great.
Keep on, wish to see more of your creation soon

acronan (Marco Nandolfi) added a critique 1 year ago:
Well, state everything said about blur (and, of course, the tripod), this photo has a wonderful light. Maybe I'm in wrong but I think you are quite young and I appreciate so so much efforts you did (reducing noise, increasing contrast and / or working with curves and lights as I suppose). Result is great. May I ask you what camera do you use?
paddlepunk (Holger Neu) said 1 year ago:
well you are right i am young (16) i use a Panasonic DMC-FZ5,an upper middle-class cam with 6megapixels, 12x optical zoom and yeah^^ thank you for your compliments
What is this wasted lower half of the frame? Should be cropped out... and what did you want to take picture of?
