I am so glad that I returned to this old topic to see what was new. This photo jumped out at me. The ephemeral swoosh of the water around the stationary rocks and colorful starfishes. Wonderful shot for the topic!

Thanks all for the comments! Matt, this was taken near Point Lobos State Reserve in California, they have some amazing tidepools full of invertebrate life there.

I think this is an excellent composure. The swirling waves have sortof a bokeh effect and make the starfish the star of the show. Wonderful.
You could comment on this photo if you were logged in.
Sure, some might say that there are distractions in the photo that take their eye away from the subject of the starfish, but i think that starfish are so unique that the eye just can't help but being attracted to looking at our 5 legged friends!
