cool painting!

This is pretty neat. Just one thing: It looks like he's meditating. As meditating is calm and relaxing the light painting is just a little to lively for my taste...

very clean lines.....the sign of a very still camera. Geat colours

thank you thank you. yes, i was wondering if i should adjust the color balance, but i felt this was more how i remembered it.

the little white spec in the sky bothers me just a bit, but other than that.. this picture couldn't be any more perfect. I love when natural things can look so smooth like this, great photo!

Thanks for the comments, leaves.
That white thing is actually the first star of the night emerging after sunset. It was removed in a later version of this and I have to say, I'm much more pleased with the shot with out the star there...

love that lone star

Very beautiful long exposure but I would have can be tried to obscure the sky by regulating the levels. But it is a nice shoot.
Très belle longue exposition mais j'aurais peut etre essayé d'assombrir le ciel en réglant les niveaux. Belle photo tout de même.

What was your exposure time? This is very beautiful. Well done.

I think it was about 6 Seconds....

this is a beautiful shot. so full of detail. i would just like to add though, may be it needs to be a little straightened, giving it a little symmetry. either way, i'm making this my first favorite. :)

Look like a snapshot photo taken during a show type cirque du soleil (no flash allowed) maybe raising up the iso
could have help but would have bring more noise,
centered the subject is a plus in that case
but i see that you already have cropped it.
Keep on i agree with lasiate on this one
By the way ive seen that all your photo with water
are very good especially back to n7
boyd added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the way that the stong lines of the big top are picked up, even in the darker areas of the frame. I find that the highlight on the feet a little distracting, but I am supposing that you were doing the best with what light you had available. Engaging shot nontheless.

really enjoy this.. Looks a bit nostalgic.

Too much dock, nothing for eyeball to focus on. Maybe placing a person or an interesting object near the end of the dock would give it some focus.

i love the glow, but i agree...the FG is a bit empty. Love the tone though....just the right shade of evening...

I couldn't agree more with the other comments! But what if you stepped out a few more feet and only had the old planks?

i like this as is...the lines and grain on the wood draw you to the mist...great image and wonderful tones
thoughtdujour (thought du jour) added a critique 1 year ago:
i was drawn to the tone of the steel blue colors and to the contrast of the wood. There is something difficult about the photo though once my brain had finished digesting the scene. I want to know what's at the far end...
Perhaps if you shot the photo from a lower angle...it would have worked. My guess it that what was at the end might not have been that interesting which is why you choose the leave it out?

This does not look like a car, but an UFO, that did fly there. Very good work. No problem with the star.

Very very cool capture....would probably look awesome with a blue matt.

Impressive image. The trail lights give an excellent line of infinity.
aepoc (Jason Kessenich) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this photo a lot. I think if we could see a little bit more of the left side of it, the shot would be a lot better. Maybe paint it with a flashlight or something during the exposure... just so we can see what we're looking at.
InsertCoins (Sune Scheller) said 1 year ago:
First of all; thanks for all the constructive criticism. Second:
#Beamer: I did considered the stars significance in the photograph, but I came to the conclusion that it sort of completed the scenery a bit more than if left out. Second, the photograph hasn’t received any post processing whatsoever and I preferred to keep it that way.
#diezel99: I tried your suggestion and you are able to get a neat result. However, as mentioned before, I sought to keep it out of Photoshop’s endless possibilities. Not that I don’t like the whole idea of post processing, but in this instance. Also the photograph is a 30 sec shutter exposure with 1600 ISO, so the danger of noise is overwhelming.
#aepoc: I didn’t bring a flashlight that night, but I do like your idea a lot. The site is not far from where I live, so I definitely will try your idea, though I think it has to be close to some sort of ‘Batman spotlight’ to do the work. Perhaps a HDR will do the trick.
For general information I can tell you, that it is taken from the side of a freeway running through the Swiss Alps. So what you can’t see is two mountain sides covered with trees, with the freeway ‘cutting’ it’s way throughout the cliff.

Very beautifull picture. The colours and composition are fantastic. Try to reduce the noise, with a little blur with photo software. Congratulations, make more of this...

I love these types of shots. You've done a great job with just the right exposure for clarity, motion blur and twinkly lights. I love it.
This is just so very simple and beautiful. I missed it before. Fantastic!
