it's a gas cap yes, taken at the auto show in geneva 2004, from some grasshopper looking concept car!

Love it. The colour reminds me of the Lancia Stratos. I think they produced a replica in a very similar colour to this...

I really like the picture, but the shadow underneath the cap is really bugging me (I know there's not a lot that you can do about the lighting at a show), otherwise I'd love it.
