turkana (César) added a critique 11 months ago:
Me gustan mucho las fotos de bosques atravesados por rfayos de luz. En este caso, aunque la foto tiene ese aire mágico que me gusta, estoy de acuerdo con AnaGaztelu y fachphoto y creo que un reencuadrado eliminando la zona donde más incide el sol, quedaría mejor.

Maybe a little less exposition could bring up some detail from the highlights, so these zones wouldn't distract the watcher. I like this shot. ;)

I love it. The simplicity of it makes it beautiful. Almost has a negative image feel to it. Seen many ice storms up close and personal and this makes a beautiful photo.
pouhou (Tony LUJIEN) added a critique 11 months ago:
Prime I thought it was a negative because of the contrast between the sky the main branchs and the thin branchs I was wrong.
So I like the usage of negative space that increase the minimalisme of this picture
trphoto (Tony Rath) added a critique 11 months ago:
Could use a little more contrast, and maybe a little more of the tree
photo24 (Sven H.) added a critique 11 months ago:
simplicity.yes.
but the color and dull tone.no
;-)

Very nice work and wonderful use of negative space with a negative image - just kidding. Well seen and well done!
Best,

I like the dark colors and tones in this image. The fence helps draw my eye into the photo. The wood to the left seems to be a bit brighter than everthing else. Was that caused by a flash?
anke-art (Anke Arnold) added a critique 11 months ago:
Very nice shot, I'd just make the fence in the lower left corner a bit darker because it draws the eye away from the more interesting parts of the picture.
turkana (César) added a critique 11 months ago:
I like the shot so much. The darkness makes fell the power of the nature.
In my opinion, I'm agrre with aloha. The flash in the first plane wood shine too much and disturb my traveling on the photo.
CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 11 months ago:
very nice composition.
only regret: the left bottom corner. I guess that you used a flash to take this picture, no ?
anyway, this portion of fence is too bright comparing to the rest of the picture. so it's drawing the eye and remove some of the mystic feelings of this picture.
may be try to crop or darken this ?
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
Good shot - well seen and nice composition to be sure - wonderful atmosphere - I am not terribly bothered by the bright spot in the lower left, but it does take one out of the atmosphere a little bit.
Best to you,
Jon

MMeye (Martine) said 11 months ago:
Muchas gracias Juan Carlos :) Estoy segura que la region de Huelva es maravillosa ;-) pero lo que ves aqui es situado en el sur de Francia, a algunos kilometros de Nice. Es el lago de Santo Cassien.
turkana (César) said 11 months ago:
El reflejo de la luz en el río hace que la vista navegue por la imagen. La superposición de planos gracias a los diferentes grados de color añaden una profundidad increible.
Me gusta mucho!!

I love the streaming light through the trees in the bottom left of frame. Also, the definite line of clouds at the top seem to balance the dark base, and this dark area does give up reasonable detail in my view. I also agree about the b&w, but I tend to bias it over colour.
pageextent (matt mangan) said 11 months ago:
Thx for you comments, I'll try converting this to b&w and see what happens. What I loved about this shot is the light golden tones in the middle, but for the web version they don't really stand out. I think I'll try a couple different versions and see what happens.
thx again
jasonkravitz (Jason Kravitz) added a critique 11 months ago:
maybe you can desaturate the sky but leave the golden tones in the center - could be an interesting effect.

Really great fog capture...too bad there was not some more fog creeping in on the foreground to give a muddled perspective...but that of course is beyond your control..
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:
Potentially a great shot. Needs some cropping on top and bottom, in my opinion. Would make a great black and white with some added contrast.
Best,
Jon

I really like this one - especially the beautiful foreground as it leads the eye into the fog! Well done!
oz_sprog (Will Williams) added a critique 10 months ago:
The colors in the grass, work so well in the fog, perhaps if the tree in the background was a little more visible.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 10 months ago:
I might have walked forward 20 feet and eliminated the dark part of the foreground. Here that dark area creates an imbalance in the composition and in the tonal range "feel" that is distracting to me. This camera repo might also have helped pull out the tree just that little bit more that Will spoke of.

Too much white space on the top. Tough picture to take. Must have been beautiful to have been there.

Hello
I wonder if you would be so kind as to allow me to post a copy of your bench picture on my blog with a credit and link back to you? If you agree, please would you email me a copy of your picture to djkirkby@gmail.com
