Good choice on the wide crop and composition. I love the colors in the rocks. Well done!

Such rich colors!!! Seems like is a tad blurry though. Great inclusion of the solitary tree, like it.

lovely shot,i agree with the comments above,
i think the shot is spectacular enough to be on its own..! no need to frame it...
the circles are a bit distracting...!
augusto (Augusto González) added a critique 4 months ago:
Buena fotografia tipo windows, pero has dejado demasido rastro del tratamiento que le has dado, quedan marcas circulares a los lados del arbol y en las nubes, puede que el biñeteado sea excesivo especialmente en la esquina superior derecha
chefron (Ron Ernst) said 4 months ago:
I reworked this image without the frame...just doesn't have the same impact. Just my thoughts..The circles are a big mistake I made by using too hard a brush, oh well we live and learn. That is just one of the advantages of digital imaging. As long as you keep your orginal image you can always go back and make changes. I looked for many years for this type of image and on a photo trip in Virginia I found it.
Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 4 months ago:
I feel that the red line in the frame is the culprit :)
willie_901 (william) added a critique 4 months ago:
The unnatural color of the sky and the flat tone of the hill don't work at all for me.
I do like the composition.

Very nice feeling with this one as the baseball season here in America begins. I would have given a little more space to the infield grass on the shortstop side - middle left of the photo - it's pretty tight and feels like it needs room.
Best,
Jon

fits in well with the theme,a bit too over processed in terms of colours, dont you think?
ryanopaz (Ryan Opaz) added a critique 4 months ago:
Seems to lack a focal point so as to draw your eye in.

WOW!
Excellent shot.
Great POV that really lends itself to this angle.
I really like the inclusion of the sky and the cloud in the corner!
I also like the reflections that are seen all the way down the rails!

Thanks everyone for the comments. This photo was a lot of fun to make, except for the crick in my neck. ;P

@Jeff: I always tend to lose my balance when trying to capture these types of scenes. Annoys the hell out of me to be honest. I really need to learn to keep my balance :D

I like the construction of the photography, and especially the surprising effect obtained on the basis of the electric poles… thanks for sharing .

The effect comes from the watering. Check this out: same day, same place.

Days like this are meant for hiking! The visual interest here is lacking something. I am just not sure what you want me to look at here. That bolder on the left side might be a good focal point if it was not cropped out of the frame. This is indeed empty... or maybe barren would be a better term.
photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:
nice shot, the colour of the sky is very beautiful.
did you use a wide angle ?
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 6 months ago:
@Geoffery, Nikon 18-70 on D70 at 18mm which is the 35mm equivalent of 27mm. The air was very dry that day and the sky was really that blue!! This trail is @4000 feet in elevation, great January day for hiking in the Southern California high desert.

I love the colors of this photo...the fuzzy wing may take away a little bit...but I still think this is a awesome photo!!
warreagle (Amy Warr) said 5 months ago:
yeah i think the fuzziness is b/c it was taken in a lower quality before I knew how to use my camera settings...
remirol (Andy Lorimer) added a critique 5 months ago:
A little fuzzy but with a wing and a prayer it could get sharper :) keep the shutter clicken

Nice capture. I love the lighting. You caught the light how I'd envision it looking if I were there in person -- great exposure. I really enjoy pictures of average places. While there is nothing special about this place, the image is sweet.
AMPix (Anne-Marie Pilon) said 4 months ago:
Thanks Sealgmg2!
Love the red against the blue-ish sky. Love the composition with that tree on the left, just makes the shot. Good diagonal in it, from top right, down with the clouds to the tree. Love it!
