Alright, I admit it - I blew the highlights in this shot - it was a difficult time of day (4 pm)for one of my favorite locations. The subject showed up and wanted something done quickly before a recital. Thanks for looking.

Yes, you have some highlights. But they don't bothering me. I don't mind if a photo has big contrasts or over the top colours or whatever, if it fits the subject. What does bothers me a bit, is the outline of her right upper arm.

Now I see her feet with the strange socks, I'm curious. Is she a dancer? Is she a relative? And she is a beautiful girl, but she has to be more carefull with her knees. Such a lovely face, her knees just don't fit. Maybe I'm a nickpicker, sorry (btw, I have a big scar on my leg myself, don't think I'm superficial 'cause of this comment).

Thanks, Tamara! And I liked her knees! Actually, she is a very fine dancer and wears the wraps on the feet for support and protection.

Nice Jon, great feel to this, her expression is great. I would nitpick the composition. I would cut the left edge very slightly to eliminate the bits of light peeking in to the left of the railing and I would have including some "toe room" at the bottom.

Still can't believe i chopped the bottom like that - duh! I shot it like that - no fixing it now, i'm afraid. Oh well! Thanks for the critique.

Just need a couple of inches at the bottom otherwise this is a great capture.

I think there is too much black in the upper right corner which could be cropped tighter adding some negative space under her feet.

Highlights on her dress are blown, but this intensifies the image in my eyes.
