I like the details in the clouds and stone wall, and the sense of movement provided by the arrow. And the blue tint!

Great light reflection and focus - would be also appropriate for the eye topic :)

This picture was made without any camera (Photogram), I've used only light, half-transparent objects and photo-paper.

CouCou33 (Ingrid) said 9 months ago:

very nice shot and congrats on the featured. Well deserved.

But I do have a question... where is he diving into ?? it's not a swimming pool; it looks like a flooded street.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 9 months ago:

@CouCou33: Bruges, also called the Venice of the North, has quite some canals in the city. He's deving into one of the canals of the city.

Being from a firefighting family, this is the first thing that popped in my head when I read about this topic. Love it!

that's really cool how the child was in the apex of that arc for enough time that the camera could get the shot clearly. i'm dorking out wondering about the mathematical relationship between the shutter speed and the rotational speed of the ride.

p.s. that kid is destined to be a motorcyclist... he's completely got down how to look through the turn!

Did (Didier Toulouze) said 10 months ago:

This is what I like in photography... You managed to froze such an ephemeral moment.
"It's a kind of magic" :-)

MMeye (Martine) said 10 months ago:

@Peter : lol, when you have calculated the more accurate relationship, please let me know, it could be useful :)
@Did : Yes, I do agree with you. Stopping time on this kind of moment always gives me a strong feeling, between magic and power.

Anyway, thank you very much : this image is one of my favorites, and it makes my day that you got it featured.

You've definitely captured the character.

MMeye (Martine) said 10 months ago:

Yes, the light might be a bit hard on the left side, but the character is really touching, and I like it.

Thanks jcniguez. That's the beauty of street photography, you can't regulate what is going to happen!

Very beautiful B&W...reminds me some of Salgado. It will be cool if you could share with us some detail on the process...
Great job!

The thumbnail of this image doesnt' do it justice! You can't see the texture until you click on it to see it bigger like this! I love it! This is very nice!!!
