Very good detail and color...I love how you captured the depth in the center of the flower...looks like the bug is holding on for dear life :) Amazing photo!

Very nice, the flower is so colorful that you hardly notice the insect, i like that a lot. it make the combination between them special.
koo88 added a critique 7 months ago:
Such a fantastic color. You could almost reach into the center of the flower. Kudos as usual.

I really like this shot, although the intense green detracts a bit from the dragonfly. All in all, I'm very impressed with this. :)

I agree with Ana - a good crop would help this considerably - fantastic image, nonetheless.

very good shot!! I really like the detail you captured in the wings!
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:
Great use of DoF. I love the look of the wings against the dark greens. I would crop off the whole top right above the ground floor windows on the the pink house. Then a bit of bottom and make a square format.

Your dog was coming through my screen! Great shot. My dog would not have stayed still that long for me to take "the shot". Still smiling looking at this picture.

Paco, así se llama mi perro, es muy nervioso por lo que tuve que llevarlo a correr y cansarlo mucho para poder hacer esta fotografia. (...El duro trabajo del fotografo, ja ja ja ). Saludos

I love the colors going on in this photo! It's a little bright in the background, but still a great subject.

Thanks guys, I took this Sat. in Joshua Tree NP in Southern California. It was a gorgeous spring day in the low 80's. I have some wildflower shots coming, stay tuned.

ta fleur préférée mais pour moi il manque une zone de netteté
boyd added a critique 8 months ago:
I very much like the colours in this shot, the strong lines created by the petals and the light. I find the point of focus a little distracting, particularly that the background texture is in sharp focus but the parts of the flower are not tack sharp - maybe a little more selective focus and a little less/more dof would help make the composition even stronger.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 8 months ago:
Very unusual shot, I like that!! Do you often shoot the bottoms?? Nicely seen, nicely realized. Small point, maybe a bit deeper DoF to include the curved areas of the green?? Not bad the way it is tho...
narnold (Noah Arnold) said 8 months ago:
Thanks to everyone for your comments!
Beamer: I just flipped it over and noticed how cool the bottom looked...usually don't do that :)

Noah,
The comp is a little bit too heavy on the left side - especially considering the subject matter.
Best,
Jon
I like this a lot, ants are a tough subject at best!
