Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 month ago:

I love the moment, the expression. Just not sure of this treatment for this subject. Color would emphasize the moment, the context. Stronger tonal range, more contrast would emphasize the action and excitement of the moment. Also, a bit of a shame about cutting the mother's head in half.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 1 month ago:

Maybe crop the mother out altogether and leave the blonde hair and waving hand - personally, I like the black and white.

Cheers,
Jon

GarrettHall (Garrett Hall) added a critique 30 days ago:

I agree that cropping the mother's face out and increasing the contrast would help. The crop will also showcase the two boys making very different faces.

Wow! Psychedelic. I think a little tighter cropping at the bottom, somehow...?! ;O)

Hi koo88.
I like the idea but there are too things in this picture that distracts my attention on the horse.
I would make a selective saturation on the horse.

PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 8 months ago:

I like the idea, too. I think maybe a different angle would have worked better. The image seems a little soft, as well. I like selective saturation idea for this shot! It would definately help the horse stand out a bit more. Maybe even, if you can, reshooting it with angle more from the head of the horse, or looking down to the horse, maybe even looking up to the horse....just some ideas Lots of colors in this! I love the colors!

willie_901 (william) added a critique 8 months ago:

Another way to make the horse stand out is to use a shallow DOF. Of course a thin DOF is hard to achieve with some lenses.

I actually like this one as it is...very bizarre. I'm guessing that the photographer knew exactly what was going on with this one.

Best,
Jon

ditto, and the composition.

KidJim (Jean Marc Veliscek) said 11 months ago:

@lolly : what does "ditto" means !?
Thanks for the feed-backs !

lolly (lolly smits) said 10 months ago:

KidJim: 'ditto' means 'the same as...', so I am saying I agree with what jordanabanana has said, and then added my own little bit as well!

that's really cool how the child was in the apex of that arc for enough time that the camera could get the shot clearly. i'm dorking out wondering about the mathematical relationship between the shutter speed and the rotational speed of the ride.

p.s. that kid is destined to be a motorcyclist... he's completely got down how to look through the turn!

Did (Didier Toulouze) said 7 months ago:

This is what I like in photography... You managed to froze such an ephemeral moment.
"It's a kind of magic" :-)

MMeye (Martine) said 7 months ago:

@Peter : lol, when you have calculated the more accurate relationship, please let me know, it could be useful :)
@Did : Yes, I do agree with you. Stopping time on this kind of moment always gives me a strong feeling, between magic and power.

Anyway, thank you very much : this image is one of my favorites, and it makes my day that you got it featured.
