Wow, I love those clouds.

Very strong history for me that this photograph. The man vis-a-vis the force of nature. A beautiful black and white, although the trees is not any more any detail. Cheer for this sky taken in a splendid way. A strange feeling on the peak of the trees which appears very luminous. Beautiful image. With the next one.

Excellent atmosphere in this image, both with the fog surrounding the man and the striking cloud patterns. The processing for this image is first rate IMHO. It really sets a fine mood. I'll have to add this one to my favorites.

I agree with others regarding the beautiful bottom part of your pic.

Regarding the top cloudy part, sorry by advance if I am wrong, but I have some doubts.
First of all, the misty atmosphere of the bottom part, IMHO, would not have been captured this way with such a sky and light.
Second, there is a white thin line running all along the leaves of the trees, which makes me think about a postprocessing selection.

Clearly, I think there is a too heavy postprocessing of the original sky, and it's a shame, because the bottom part of the pic needs nothing more to be attractive.

Spooky one. I like how you set up the composition but have found it a tad more interesting if the person had been left of the center, facing to the right, moving, or facing towards the camera, standing still.
I also agree with MMeye that the clouds look a bit too "painted" (to not say "overdone").

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 1 year ago:

The bottom part is really great, excellent, and so is the top part, but unfortunately they don't match with one another.
That white thin line running all along the leaves of the trees is quite disturbing.

I would shoot a sky that is black at the bottom, put that one behind the foreground and simply blind out the foreground where the trees are. The trees won't be noticeable as such anymore, but it'll be a nice changeover.

I have to agree with most people above. In the thumbnail I was captured by what I saw, but felt manipulated once I opened it.

The white rim around the trees gives it away.

Singularly the top and bottom of the picture could stand alone. The mist at the fence is beautiful, and I do wonder what the subject is looking at, or who is he waiting for?
