This has a wonderful feeling. It's hard to tell if it was shot recently or a long time ago.

I wish it was exposed just a little less. It is hard to make out the expressions on the faces. To me this makes it fit better into the cars theme, but less so into the shot with a story theme. Seeing their emotions might make me wonder more why they are here.

grahambo,

Thanks for the critique.
This shot was done about mid day so highlights were really hard to deal with.
this shot was taken about 1-2 mo. ago.
there is a story behind it but I will give others a chance to wonder before I explain!

Although I agree with Grahambo's comment, I think you did well, taking account of the hard light at mid day. The women is wearing a white suit, and it could have been worst. It's a good job, you gave a beautiful mood to this pic. Really looks like it had been taken 50 years ago.
Regarding the story... I will try a funny hypothesis : maybe they were just married ? and as the man is a collector, the car was their present ?... ;-)

Ok here is the rundown.
This was shot in June of this year.
These are my grandparents.
This was a shot before they entered the party for their 50th anniversary.
The car is the transport to and from the event.
This is actually one of my uncle's cars and they thought it would give the part a nostalgic feel.
So, MMeye, you were real close!

Side note:
This was featured in the local paper under their 50 years later theme.
This was also entered into the Western Idaho Fair and received and Honorable Mention in the Portrait category!

Really nice. I love the old car. I agree with the exposure on the faces. Over all, Great job.

Thanks for the comment.
I really wish the faces were better but what can i do now!

I like the picture, I like the theme. It goes back to another time. It could just be my monitor but it looks like the picture was taken through a screen. There is a texture there. The old B&W polaroids that I remember, and this reminds me of one of those, were sharp as tacks.

tzirlott,
I added grain/noise to it to bring out the feel that I was looking for.
That is what you are seeing.

Thanks all for the feature!
