love it!!
very good use of selective saturation!!
normally I'm not a fan of ss because it's often not used correct, but for this one I gladly make an exeption ;)

Yikes!!! That's a real fixer upper for sure. A story I'd love to know...vandalism? or just age?
ties (Ties Dufraing) said 1 year ago:
quite a story indeed!
could've looked a bit more dramatic with some curves adjustments maybe ... but it's a great scene!
sniker said 1 year ago:
Thanks to both of you. I don't really know the story myself. It must be somewhat inbetween both vandalism and age. This was a room in a long deserted building on a place where freight trains come in. From the extend of what I could see, I guessed that homeless people had been living there for a while... No clue why they trashed their only bathroom like that ^^

I think the sharpness and/or contrast could be better placed here. The strongest detail I see here is the hair on the bottom ankle.
I'm not sure what equipment you used. It seems this would be better with either a lot more DOF or a sharply defined DOF.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for the feedback! I just shot this with my Nikon and was playing with Picture Project, not something I usually use. I have thought about reprocessing it in Photoshop for curiousity's sake but there isn't much I can do about the DOF...
digitalchemy (A J Gunawan) added a critique 1 year ago:
for my taste, i like the processing but it will look better if you can capture, all of his feet.

THanks guys! J'ai à admettre, cela si le modèle a su du commentaire de pédicure, il me ferait le descendre. Cela est trop drôle ! ! !

Maybe a glass of wine instead of a beer and the candle a bit more to the right so that it doesn't blend with the background - but maybe that would strip the authentic character off the image. The purple tones in the upper right could be a bit darker but that's it. I like that one!
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:
I must agree this is a shoot with a story,
candleligth should be less than an inch to the rigth,
to put it as a 1/3 element, wouldnt remove any element
example replacing the beer with white wine would not bring the same yellow reflection on the table that complement the flower, removing the left subject would empty this story of 2 communicating.
overall my comment is 4.7/5.
Even the darkness on the bouquet help the flowers
but the upper rigth need to be corrected.
Thanks for that great shoot

What a beautiful photo. To me tells a story of a long, crazy, tiring, joyful, and ultimatley beautiful day..

I wouldn't change anything with this photo! I love the composition and the beer! It really tells an excellent story! Those flowers are gorgeous!
The processing here is excellent! Maybe a little dark but it helps the storyline! :)

I agree with others regarding the beautiful bottom part of your pic.
Regarding the top cloudy part, sorry by advance if I am wrong, but I have some doubts.
First of all, the misty atmosphere of the bottom part, IMHO, would not have been captured this way with such a sky and light.
Second, there is a white thin line running all along the leaves of the trees, which makes me think about a postprocessing selection.
Clearly, I think there is a too heavy postprocessing of the original sky, and it's a shame, because the bottom part of the pic needs nothing more to be attractive.
sunside (Markus Mayer) added a critique 1 year ago:
Spooky one. I like how you set up the composition but have found it a tad more interesting if the person had been left of the center, facing to the right, moving, or facing towards the camera, standing still.
I also agree with MMeye that the clouds look a bit too "painted" (to not say "overdone").
Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 1 year ago:
The bottom part is really great, excellent, and so is the top part, but unfortunately they don't match with one another.
That white thin line running all along the leaves of the trees is quite disturbing.
I would shoot a sky that is black at the bottom, put that one behind the foreground and simply blind out the foreground where the trees are. The trees won't be noticeable as such anymore, but it'll be a nice changeover.

I have to agree with most people above. In the thumbnail I was captured by what I saw, but felt manipulated once I opened it.
The white rim around the trees gives it away.
Singularly the top and bottom of the picture could stand alone. The mist at the fence is beautiful, and I do wonder what the subject is looking at, or who is he waiting for?

Nice shot, but I don't see a story here....
No titles allowed so all I will tell is that all the men in this photo are Santa Claus.
