Agree, don't get too much out of this for topic. Eye goes everywhere and nowhere at the same time, very busy to no real end.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
When I think of this topic I think of photos that have me wanting to know more about what is going on. For example what is that doing there? How did it get there? What happened to that person? Why are they doing that etc. Kind of like when you go to buy a book the cover is what first gets your attention and makes you want to know whats inside. This one is pretty self explanatory for me. It appears to be the coffee station at a diner or deli. It doesn't really have me wanting more.

So, they kicked off their shoes and jumped in, yes? Very nice that there's no person, but they're still the subject.
Jens (Jens Hoffmann) said 1 year ago:
The second one had still his shoes on.....:D

Very powerful Mark. What is the story behind this image?
kitaoka (Mark Kitaoka) said 1 year ago:
This homeless couple was sitting in the bus shelter. The woman was looking at another couple entering their new Mercedes Benz and her eyes met the eyes of the woman entering the car. The homeless woman's expression is such a haunting one. For me this is certainly one of the most moving images in my library.
Thanks for your comments.

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about... this image grabs you where you live. Not only is it a gripping image, the contrast and balance are fabulous.

A really nice shot Mark. Expressions on persons faces can say so much…….

I like the shot (very much) but I feel I would have liked it even more in 100% black and white .

Very spooky...I like it! I also like it in color!
luminance added a critique 1 year ago:
In general, I'm not such a huge fan of selective coloring (personally find it a little gimmicky and dated). But I could see how it might work given the context of illustrating a story.
I love your b&w conversion of the rest of the shot though!
Laurie (Laurie) said 1 year ago:
luminance...the re-saturation of the shot was actually an accident. I clicked on something, I don't know what, and some of the color returned. I liked it though. It was actually an "illustration" I planned on using for a short story I wrote last year. I tried to repeat it on another shot with less success.

Hi Sabine,
I think you show us too much or not enough.
For this topic you should show us a little more the little girl and not cut the nose of this horse. I guess she is giving him some food or just touching him.
Colors and exposure are good.
Blumie (Sabine) said 1 year ago:
Thanks a lot for taking the time. You know what impressed me - as I took the shot and later - the view of the horse. For me this is love at first sight. I am sorry you did not see what I saw, but I am happy, you liked the technical stuff here. Smile.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think I have to agree with Didier, I looked at this twice in thumbnail and twice full size before I even saw the girl.
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:
I third what Didier said.
It could be about the girl, the girl and the horse, or the horse. There is a nice picture of the horses mane (top knot, pompadour, or whatever) in there too with just a little more context or focus.

:-) Tracy. Thanks.
Viper (Dan McMurray) said 1 year ago:
Brant... You did a superb job of capturing the light in this photo. The subtle tones, the play on light and shadow... This image speaks volumes. The expression on the children's faces, the body language, the setting. It tells a real story. Bravo!
bslomovic (Brant Slomovic) said 1 year ago:
Thank you Viper...those are very kind words. Really appreciate the thoughtful comment. Although this image has already been featured elsewhere I felt I just had to submit it for this theme, it a pretty special photo for me. So thanks again and to all for the feature. Cheers.

Thanks for the comments :)
@Tracy: That was exactly why I sent this one in for this topic, you can really imagine a story around this picture yourself ...
I wouldn't mind cropping off the refrigerator (because of the big flat white area) and elbow (?) on the right. Other than that, it's a good photo from a technical standpoint.
I don't understand the connection to the topic. The only element to suggest a story is the out of place red thing on the bottom level. Other than that it feels very "still life" to me.
