It looks like there must be a great story behind this image. Detail is great, as is the range of tones that you have captured. Also, the use of b&w here suites the image beautifully. Well done.

What a great face!! The composition feels awakward to me. The helmet is so big for his head that is distracting to me. Makes me focus on it rather that the great character of the face.

No posing. I took the photo during a river crossing in Laos so I had the opportunity to take a few shots.
