The bottom of a saline graduation tower in Ciechocinek, Poland. See my photoblog for more details.

You have a very strong composition and subject here. I feel you have over processed this, especially over sharpened. I think the b&w choice is strong, but over done.

Thanks for the critique Beamer. I wanted to make a strong dramatic b&w image. Perhaps too much sharpened, I'll pay more attention in the future.

Hey Paul, thanks for visiting my blog and your lovely comments!! One tip I learned pretty early on in "developing" digital images is to leave the sharpening step for last. When you are preparing an image for printing vs. display on a monitor/website, the sharpening and final tonal range must be set differently. For web display you should only sharpen the image after you have set the resolution and tonal range for monitor display. The same goes for printing.

Hope this helps.

traitement trop poussé. Dommage car la géométrie était bien vue

Many thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it.

To post on Vazaar I made the image smaller and sharpened it afterwards because of lack of sharpness. Despites I sharpened less than the other posted images, I clearly see now that is still too much.

@Beamer: thanks for the explanation, I definitely need to pay much more attention to that.

I think that you have seen a great opportunity here Paul. I like that you have used the b&w to highlight the strong geometric shapes. Well done.

Nice texture, lines, and tonality. Interesting subject and precise craftsmanship of the builders. I'd like to see more of these structures. What are they used for?

@Smooch: thanks for the comment. On my photo blog I posted a series of three images regarding such towers, together with some explanation. You'll see two shots of the top. I could send you some other images showing you the full construction if you like.
