that's a really cool capture. i like the look through the window into a rainy day. nicely done!

danne (danne eriksson) said 8 days ago:

Lamdennison. Muchas gracias! It is the front door at a small ship going between the islands in the archipilago.

taikrixel: You should come here and visit our climat. :-) After a while you starts to miss the sun. ,-)

You've 'caught' her beautifully...and his inquisitiveness! ;o)

Mark,

Great work on this one - very special. By the way, do you know Thomas Hawke? Just curious.

Best,
Jon

kitaoka (Mark Kitaoka) said 3 months ago:

Thank you lolly. Jon, my apologies for taking three months to respond, but candidly, I do not stop here too often anymore. I do not know who Thomas Hawke is. Do I owe him money? ;-)

Wow. Spectacular shot, and thanks all for the great tutorial. I have yet to play with HDR, but this prompts me further to go explore it.

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) said 4 months ago:

Thanks Craig! If you get stuck feel free to e-mail any questions my way. Lots of good links out there on how to do this properly.

dominik (Dominik Fusina) said 4 months ago:

Very pretty but a little too dark for me

HuubL said 3 months ago:

Beautiful seascape/sunset shot. HDR seems very popular lately and therefore, for me it quickly looses its appeal. However, landscapes like this really gain from a modest use of the technique.

David_Rocaberti (David Rocaberti) said 4 days ago:

Great post-processing.

Thanks for all the comments.
couldn't make it stronger without your comments!

I knew it was a good image, just had to find the right balance!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 days ago:

I agree that this is better, I still wish you had burned the face a bit more. Do you use dodge and/or burn brushes or perhaps layer masks?

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 4 days ago:

love the emotion this photo communicates!! Excellent job!

mikeock (Mike Adams) said 4 days ago:

Beamer,

A burn on the face may lift this a bit.
What i had done.
Run through a noise removal script.
Set the noise removal to be as high as possible without loosing details.
I then duplicated the layer and ran a bw film simulation script.
Adjusted contrast and curve on the BW layer.
I then set it to overlay with a value of about 50% or so.

Straightened the verticals, cropped and posted.

So yes i probably could burn a bit to add some emphasis.

@Boyd: about those leaves, your probably right. I saw that later, but it costed me a lot of time to get a suiteble photo... I'm not really photogenic :P plus I got to held the frame in the right position. I thought it wasn't really bad, so I desided to leave it this way.

Thank you all for your comments.

lauravink (Laura Vink) added a critique 29 days ago:

The composition is good, and I'm not distracted by the leaf next to you eyes. I do have the feeling that I'm missing some focus on your face.,,

Greetings, Laura

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 12 days ago:

I love the action and flow of this, but the treatment does call a lot of attention to itself. To me that's the rule, if I find myself looking at the treatment/technique rather than the subject, then the treatment has failed...

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) said 12 days ago:

Clyde - I'm in agreement with your rule - well stated.

Cheers,
Jon

taikrixel (thomas mueller) added a critique 9 days ago:

interesting postprocessing, but i think colour or bw would be cooler here. i'm not a friend of colour experiments!

mooch added a critique 8 days ago:

I like the idea. You have strong contrasting colours for a black and white but this image would have benefitted from a more selective use of colour. As suggested, perhaps just the one person.

Ludimaginary (Richard Vantielcke) added a critique 4 days ago:

Nice capture and beautiful frame... but I have some problems with the colorization in post-prod.

I love the way that the line through the rocks carries your eye across the frame. Agree with the positive comments above, well done.

David_Rocaberti (David Rocaberti) said 6 days ago:

Hola Ana;

David

David_Rocaberti (David Rocaberti) said 6 days ago:

Thank you Kostas, I'm glad you like this pic

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) said 6 days ago:

Hola David:
Saludos.

David_Rocaberti (David Rocaberti) said 5 days ago:

Hola Ana,

Muchas gracias.

Atentamente,

David
